The Asian American Art & Culture Initiative (AAACI) is a nonprofit public humanities organization dedicated to preserving and amplifying Asian American history through research-based art, community archives, and education. Our work centers on Asian American art, Asian American oral history, and archival research, making overlooked histories accessible through exhibitions, film, and public programs. By building an Asian American archive grounded in ethical research and community collaboration, AAACI advances public humanities practice and fosters deeper understanding of Asian American experiences within the broader American story.

Research-based exhibition uncovering early Chinese American history in Texas through archives, oral histories, and contemporary art.
A youth-centered art exhibition empowering students to connect creativity with cultural identity and lived experience on top of academic pressure.
For generations, Asian American histories—especially early Chinese American stories in Texas—have remained fragmented, overlooked, or undocumented. As archives fade and community knowledge disappears, these stories risk being lost forever.
AAACI transforms archival research and oral histories into public-facing exhibitions, films, and educational programs. Through research-based art and community collaboration, history becomes something people can see, hear, and experience—not just read about.
Through public humanities research, community archives, and youth training, AAACI builds long-term infrastructure for historical preservation. Our work ensures Asian American histories are not only preserved—but integrated into public education, cultural institutions, and collective memory
